flower spaceship sketch

Watch the Livestream collaboration between Minhi England & John Sharvin

You can watch the entire assembly of this “Flower Space Pod!”

This is a collaborative sculpture by Minhi England & John Sharvin created at the Corning Museum of Glass.

The featured photo of this blog post is the original sketch that we referenced for this glass sculpture.

The demo was inspired by a NASA Mission launched in 2015, with the first successful flower blossom (zinnia flower) to happen in space, which was later coined as the “space flower.” The goal was to treat astronauts to leafy greens, so they could have access to freshly grown produce on the station while in orbit.

Special thanks to Corning Museum of Glass
and a big thank you to John Sharvin for being a super fun collaboration partner!
